Boxes and Boos
Spooky season is upon us again! I love a well themed offering for both the Boxes and the Booze so I’m getting in the scary spirit and breaking out the scary spirits.
Spirit Box
It’s everyone’s favorite holiday again and it wouldn’t be Halloween without another episode of “Boxes and Boos”! This year I’ve got just the thing to send shivers down your spine. We are going on a séance to commune with the dead. It’s a journey that’s sure to raise your spirits
Don’t Shout Box
It’s fitting then to remember the man who made this puzzle box on Halloween this year. I've always thought that the “Don’t Shout” box is well suited for the Halloween theme, because perhaps it contains a spooky surprise inside that will make you want to scream.
Houdini’s Torture Cell
It may not be so obvious at first glance, but Brian’s “Houdinis Torture Cell” is a perfect Halloween puzzle. One of his coveted limited edition puzzles, Houdini won a Jury First Prize in the 2012 Nob Yoshigahara Puzzle Design Competition.
Always Empty Box
On this All Hallows Eve, I present a puzzle box which is “all hollow”, or as its maker, Phil Tomlinson describes it, “always empty”. Phil Tomlinson is a fine cabinet and puzzle box maker from Cincinnati Ohio, who created the “Always Empty” box out of Black Walnut, Curly Maple, Bloodwood, Rock Maple and Pawlownia woods.
